Create custom menus instead of default menu (you need to have basic understanding of jQuery to create this)

    var menu_list = [
        {
            title: "Show alert",
            select: function(o){
                alert("This link is linked to: "+o.attr('href')+" and have titled as:"+o.attr('title'));
                return false; // need to return false if you don't use href parameter
            }
        },
        {
            title: "Show floating box",
            select: function(o){
                var element = '<div id="floatingbox" style="position:fixed;width:600px;height:300px;left:50%;top:50%;margin:-150px 0 0 -300px;background:#fff;border:1px solid #666;padding:10px;">';
                element += 'Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat. Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur. Excepteur sint occaecat cupidatat non proident, sunt in culpa qui officia deserunt mollit anim id est laborum.';
                element += '</div>';
                $('body').append(element);
                $('#floatingbox').click(function(){ $(this).remove(); });
                return false; // need to return false if you don't use href parameter
            }
        },
        {
            title: "Disabled menu",
            select: function(o){
                alert("This is disabled menu, this function won't get executed!");
            },
            disabled: true
        },
        {
            title: "Link to other sites",
            href: "http://www.example1.com",
            select: function(o){
                return true; // return true so that it can continue to the href
            }
        }
    ];
    $("#custommenu a").linkMenu(
        {
            menu: menu_list,
            effect: "fade",
            speed: 300,
            placement: "right",
            click: "single"
        }
    );
All code is tested and should work fine on all recent web browser, including Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 8, Mozilla Firefox 3, Opera 9 and Google Chrome 3. Newer version of those browser should work even better.
